IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE DISPENSER OF GRACE
[24:50]
Is there disease in their hearts? Or have they begun to doubt [that this is a divine writ]? Or do they fear that God and His Apostle might deal unjustly with them?
Nay, it is [but] they, they who are doing wrong [to themselves]!

* v.50 : I.e., by depriving them of what they choose to regard as “legitimate” liberties and enjoyments, or by supposedly preventing them from “keeping up with the times.” As in verses 47 and 48 (as well as in verse 51 below) the expression “God and His Apostle” is here a synonym for the divine writ revealed to the Apostle.
